Nimky is the final planet of the Karat system, orbiting more than four times farther out than Fern. As a result, it receives almost no light from Karat, and due to its age, its core has almost entirely cooled. Its surface temperature is close to absolute zero, and all geologically activity on it has ceased.
Its status as a first-generation planet of Karat is contested, as it shows no scars form Karat’s death, and is potentially older than the star itself. It is potentially a captured planet instead, having spent millions of years drifting through interstellar space before encountering Karat.
`
One of the planets where I really think I could’ve done better. However, it has finally reached that level of peak isolation I was hoping for. It probably receives more light from Amber Light than it does from Karat, and with its current location of orbiting a white dwarf, it is unlikely that its situation will ever change.
