If there is one thing that Avali lore has been significantly lacking in, then its the lack of any detailed description of their home solar system. This page serves to fill that void. It is the result of two years of work, and originally started as just a mod for Kerbal Space Program. I decided to go and write all the info about it down somewhere public, so people don’t have to own that game and install the mod read up on my Avali solar system lore.

Each planet and star will have its own page, but moons will only get their own pages if they are significant enough. Otherwise, entire moon systems may be grouped into a single page. Every page will also contain Author’s notes, which will be indicated by a text box

A map of the Avali home solar system

The Avali homeworld, ’Avalon‘, isn’t actually a planet on its own, instead being a rather large moon orbiting the ice giant ’Valaya’, which in turn orbits the star ’Solakku’. It shares the system with 6 other planets, and 1 dwarf planet. There are also two comets in the system. The nearest star to Solakku is a red dwarf named ’Crest’, which is infact so close, it is gravitationally bound to Solakku, orbiting it some distance away. Although it is a very dim star, so much that its light is weaker than even a crescent moon here on earth by the time it reaches Avalon. It is, however, responsible for the relative lack of minor objects (comets, asteroids, outer dwarf planets) in the Solakku system due to the interference of its gravitational pull.

The system itself is locates close to the center of the Galaxy, meaning the sky has a lot more stars in it than the one seen from Earth. The high star density also means there are two more star systems close to Solakku: Karat and Amber Light. In general, interstellar travel is a lot easier for Avali, due to how tightly packed everything is.

` Which galaxy exactly this system resides in is up for the reader to decide. I only took the "close to the galactic core" from the existing lore. Everything else about the location is intentionally left ambiguous. `
