Amber Light is a red giant star located 1.2 light-years away almost directly above Solakku’s north pole, taking a similar role to Polaris as the North Star on Avalon. It is an asymptotic giant, meaning it is actively fusing helium into carbon in its core, and is relatively close to death, although its emissions are still relatively minor, and will not reach their peak until it has moved further away from Solakku again.

Its high luminosity means its planets are mostly being scorched currently, and it is very likely that it has “absorbed” at least one inner planet, which is now orbiting inside the outer bounds of the star, hidden from view. There also exists a rather sizeable sphere of asteroids orbiting past Amber Light’s planets, though very few are on orbits that take them closer to the star. They are mostly rocky bodies, with very few icy ones.

` BIG STAR! Originally named "Colossus", but changed it after the star system was used in a worldbuilding project that I can’t yet talk much about. As for the star itself....I actually got its bump map from Space Engine. Didn’t make that one myself. Don’t tell anyone! `
