.. list-table:: Physical Characteristics :name: physical-characteristics-brii :stub-columns: 1 * - Mass - 7.4655E22 kg (1.015 times Moon’s) * - Radius - 1,754.48 km (1.009 times Moon’s) * - Gravity - 0.165 g * - Rotation period - Tidally locked .. list-table:: Orbit :name: orbit-brii :stub-columns: 1 * - Semi-Major Axis - 52,955 km (0.137 times Moon’s) * - Inclination - 0° * - Eccentricity - 0 * - Period - 13 h, 56 m, 52 s Brii is the innermost moon of Fern, and exceptionally dark, with most of its surface being covered in pitch black rock. However, this black coloration is broken up by a series of craters and large amount of ridge lines in the surface, revealing a layer of lighter rock below. The ridges are most likely formed due to tidal effects from Fern. ``` I had a lot of fun making this one. Ravines go brrrrrrrrr... ``` Tido ---- .. raw:: html

.. list-table:: Physical Characteristics :name: physical-characteristics-tido :stub-columns: 1 * - Mass - 1.719E23 kg (2.33 times Moon’s) * - Radius - 2,217.78 km (1.27 times Moon’s) * - Gravity - 0.23789 g * - Rotation period - Tidally locked .. list-table:: Orbit :name: orbit-tido :stub-columns: 1 * - Semi-Major Axis - 81,573 km (0.21 times Moon’s) * - Inclination - 0° * - Eccentricity - 0 * - Period - 26 h, 37 m, 46 s The second moon of Fern is mostly characterized by its large mass and strange purple colorations on its surface, indicating large deposits of exotic minerals. ``` This was around the time when I suddenly started experiencing heavy burnout while working on this system, that lasted until I completed Nimky and Kekko. As a result, this moon is rather generic looking. Maybe one day I’ll come back to it and the rest of the moons after it. ``` Prizzer ------- .. raw:: html
.. image:: _static/Prizzer_space.png :width: 360 :align: center :alt: View of Prizer from space .. rst-class:: center *Prizzer as seen from space* .. raw:: html
.. list-table:: Physical Characteristics :name: physical-characteristics-prizzer :stub-columns: 1 * - Mass - 6.057E21 kg * - Radius - 651.95 km * - Gravity - 0.1 g * - Rotation period - Tidally locked .. list-table:: Orbit :name: orbit-prizzer :stub-columns: 1 * - Semi-Major Axis - 173,015 km * - Inclination - 1.1° * - Longitude of Ascending Node - 36° * - Eccentricity - 0.08 * - Argument of Periapsis - 10° * - Period - 3 d, 10 h, 27 m Prizzer is the first of two minor moons orbiting Fern. Its mostly covered in tholin deposits in a variety of concentrations. There are also decent deposits of copper salts in Prizzer’s crust, giving some patches on it a distinct green hue. ``` At this point, I had to start boosting the brightness of my screenshots. Very little light from Karat reaches here, and its a very dark place as a result. Also, nothing too impressive here either, but I at least love the colors I gave this one. There’s just a bit of emerald green in it too! ``` Lilly ----- .. raw:: html
.. image:: _static/Lilly_space.png :width: 360 :align: center :alt: View of Lilly from space .. rst-class:: center *Lilly as seen from space* .. raw:: html
.. list-table:: Physical Characteristics :name: physical-characteristics-lilly :stub-columns: 1 * - Mass - 9.2E18 kg * - Radius - 38.8 km * - Gravity - 0.04155 g * - Rotation period - Tidally locked .. list-table:: Orbit :name: orbit-lilly :stub-columns: 1 * - Semi-Major Axis - 267,191 km * - Inclination - -28° * - Longitude of Ascending Node - 99° * - Eccentricity - 0.16 * - Argument of Periapsis - 205° * - Period - 6 d, 14 h, 15 m Lilly is a minor asteroid moon orbiting on the outer edge of the Fern moon system. It posesses an unusually eccentric and inclined orbit, and strange pink coloration. ``` I love asteroid moons, they’re so cute. Especially when they have fun colors like this one! ``` ``` My N-Body simulation was actually NOT used here to generate the orbits. Which is bad, because I’m pretty sure I messed up the resonances of these orbits, and they desparately need to be fixed! Consider the orbital parameters listed here very WiP. ```
